LifeServe Donors

"Blood and tissue donation is a legacy to my family and so I'm honored and privileged to be able to carry that on. My mother also has always donated blood and I celebrated my 16th birthday by coming to the blood center and donating blood first when I was eligible. I recently celebrated my 5 gallon so I hope to be able to carry on this legacy. And additionally my mother gave bone marrow when I was a couple years old to a boy in Chicago. And it's strange to say, but I would be honored to be able to continue that legacy as well."

"Ten years ago, I underwent a difficult surgery on my left hip and lost a lot of blood. I required two units in the recovery room and one more for the next three days. After my recovery, I became a regular donor and to date have given over 45 units. Thank you, Life Serve, for your service!"

"I think I started out donating in Wisconsin, that's where I grew up at, and so then when I moved to Iowa I think once I got done with college I started donating again. I feel that people need our assistance, you know, and therefore it was a good thing to do so I do it. I love to volunteer and I love to give so I am very grateful for LifeServe. They are very accommodating If I have to change my appointment, no problem. If I come in a few minutes late, no big deal. And then when I'm here early, no big deal, they get me squeezed in. Everybody's laughing, everybody's fun, you know. Makes it easy."

Each year, thousands of lives are saved from blood transfusions, and behind every unit of blood there is a face, a family, and a story to tell. Did a blood transfusion help your family during a critical time? Have you given 20+ gallons of blood in honor of a loved one?
Whatever your experience is, you could help recruit first time blood donors to our lifesaving cause!
Real life stories are the best tool we have to captivate people. Your tale could inspire someone to invite a friend to their community blood drive, try an automated donation, or even face their fear of needles.
Share your story, impact lives.
