New Chairman of LifeServe Board of Directors

LifeServe Blood Center is proud to announce Joshua R. Strief, Partner at Elverson Vasey, as the incoming Chairman of the LifeServe Board of Directors. LifeServe Blood Center is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The board is comprised of a broad range of leaders in the community representing businesses, community organizations and hospitals. They are committed and dedicated to ensuring that a safe and adequate blood supply is always available to the patients and communities served by Lifeserve Blood Center.
LifeServe Blood Center is a non-profit, community-based blood center that has served the needs of local hospitals and patients in our regions since 1947. As one of the 15 largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe provides blood products to 158 hospitals primarily in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. LifeServe is committed to saving lives by providing premier service to volunteer blood donors and access to an available and safe blood supply for hospitals and patients.
Beginning May 1, Joshua R. Strief began his term as Chairman of the LifeServe Board. Strief has served on the LifeServe Board of Directors for four years, joining May 2019. During that time, he has held the role of Chair of the Human Resource Committee from May 2021 – present, the Secretary/Treasurer from 2022 – 2023 and the Chair of the Facility Committee. In his role as Chair of the Facility Committee, Strief helped lead the organization to select a location, sell their current facility, and finance and construct their new corporate headquarters at 5625 NW Johnston Drive, Johnston, Iowa.
Strief is an Iowa native and grew up on a farm outside Sac City, Iowa. He attended Drake University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with honors. In 2014, Josh received a Juris Doctorate with honors from Drake University Law School. Josh was admitted to the Iowa State Bar and United States District Court, Southern and Northern Federal Districts of Iowa, in 2014.
Along with his role as Chairman of the LifeServe Board of Directors, Josh also serves on numerous other boards and committees across the state. Josh is also an active blood donor.
